Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini Coming to Three UK; Detailed Together With Nokia X7, HTC Flyer Tablet, More Products

UK carrier Three has just managed to leak its entire spring-summer lineup, that includes an interesting newcomer. We’re talking about the Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini, a name we haven’t heard till now. This is now the Galaxy Mini we already knew, but rather a dumbed down version of the Galaxy S2 smartphone.

This interesting handset comes with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a 3.7 inch display. Android 2.3, a 1.4GHz processor, WiFi and GPS. It also supports 21Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, in case you’re wondering. Accompanying this future release is the Nokia X7, that was spotted in Pakistan recently, in leaked images.

The X7 should launch in June and tablets are also on the list, with products like the HTC Flyer and WiFi-only PlayBook coming in June as well. The Nokia X7 is supposed to feature Symbian, an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a 4 inch nHD display.

INQ Chat 3G Gets Unboxed in Front of Camera (Video)

INQ is not a famous brand, but they manage to produce decent handset, like the INQ Chat 3G, available exclusively through the 3 network in the UK. The folks of tracyandmatt.co.uk got their hands on a unit of this device and unboxed in front of the camera, for us all to see:

They had prior experience with the brand, having reviewed the INQ1 in 2009. You should know that the INQ Chat 3G expands the functionality of its predecessor by adding a QWERTY keyboard on the mix, a larger screen and 3G connectivity. Preinstalled apps are also available, with stuff like Twitter making social networking possible.

INQ Chat 3G is 12.8mm thick, weighs 122 grams, supports 3G connectivity, uses a 2.4 inch colour TFT screen, with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution and 100MB of internal memory. There’s also a microSD card slot on board, plus support for Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus, a WAP 2.0/xHTML browser, GPS and a 1150 mAh battery.

UK Carrier 3 Readies SIM Card for Free Skype Calls

UK mobile operator 3 has just announced that it plans on launching a special SIM card, that will allow its users to make free Skype calls, covering any Skype to Skype communication, not only those made between 3 customers.

Skype was already working with 3, through the Skypephone, but the two companies are now even more close, through this new option. Starting from May, pay as you go customers using the 3 network will have access to Skype services, even if they’re low on credit or they’ve reached the zero limit. Afterwards, 3 will launch the new SIM cards, allowing free calls to be placed and IM to be sent to other Skype users, for 2 pounds only.

Is this a move meant to acknowledge that VoIP is slowly taking over or just a quick way for carriers to make cash, before the Internet telephony takes off and leaves the conventional one behind?

3′s INQ1 Phone is a Great Social Networking Device

We’ve shown you the INQ1 social networking phone before, but now the perfect social networking handset has been launched by the British carrier 3. This handset is all about the Skype, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Bebo integration, but its specs are not something to neglect.

INQ1 comes with a 2.2 inches QVGA screen, HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a microSD slot, 50MB of internal memory and a battery that lasts about 329 hours in standby mode and 324 hours in talk mode. 3′s handset measures 97 x 47.6 x 14.4 mm, weighs 110 grams and it’ll be available for $118, or for free with a contract.

The core of the device is a Qualcomm chipset with custom Brew OS and its main focus is integration with most popular social networking services plus Google Maps, Last FM, Gmail and tons of other great names, which will have your contacts merged into a single useful list. Also, you should know that Last FM is built into the multimedia player of the phone and that the home screen uses a widget system to help you get by.

Start looking for it in British shops in December and consider this a perfect Christmas gift.
