Chinon AVi iPod Dock Packs a Digital TV Tuner, Gets Reviewed

If you want an iPod Touch accessory for Christmas, Chinon AVi would be the ideal gift, since this is an iPod dock with a built-in digital TV tuner. The device packs a 7 inch color TFT LCD monitor (480 x 234 pixels), used as an iPod video screen and the product can be yours for a mere $200.

This iPod dock will also be used as a music player, FM radio, alarm clock and more, all of these stuffed within a gadget the size of a toaster. On board you’ll find two 2.5 Watt speakers, an ATSC digital TV tuner, an universal iPod dock, bundled with a remote control, that’s poorly laid out.

The pros of this device is that it’s great for small spaces, it works with 8 C batteries, it comes with AV output and it provides a pretty good TV and video picture in spite of its resolution. On the cons side, we have the weak TV antenna, the mediocre audio quality and the high price tag. Full review here.
