Android SDK Now Supports Android 2.0
The fresh news in the Google OS universe is that the Android SDK now supports Android 2.0, also dubbed Eclair. What’s new in Android 2.0? Well, fresh developer APIs for sync, Bluetooth and much more features, you can learn from the video below:
Now, via the new sync, account manager and contact APIs, developers will be able to write apps enabling uses to sync their handsets to contact sources. Quick Contacts can also be embedded within applications, plus the new Bluetooth API and one can add peer to peer connectivity or gaming to an app.
If you’re a developer, you can use the SDK Manager to add Android 2.0 support to the SDK you’re using and update your SDK Tools to revision 3. In the following months, we’ll see a bunch more Android devices being launched, either running Android 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0, but there will also be an upgrade for version 2.0 towards the year end, the last for 2009.
