Droid Gets 1.59% Mobile Market Share Already… Wow!
The folks of Getclicky have revealed an impressive feat of the freshly launched Droid handset recently: turns out that the device already gets 1.59% of the web browser market share in the US.
Getclicky shows the daily web browsing marketshare for mobile phones, by calculating it from all traffic generated on the 150,000+ sites tracked by this service. The info is updated every 30 minutes, so expect the percentage to increase, as Droid gets more popular.
Meanwhile, we learn that the iPhone dominates the US web browser market share, with 53.27%, followed by Android, with 6.84% and “everything else” (aside from Droid, mentioned above), with 39.89%. Keep in mind that these figures don’t reflect the sales of the devices, but rather how much people use these handsets for web browsing. Looking good till now, Verizon/Motorola/Google!
