Google Will Implement Varied Payment Options in Android Market
Google recently announced that it’ll make some changes in the Android Market Developer Distribution Agreement. These changes include the implementation of more varied payment options for purchasers of apps from the Android Market. Right now you can only rely on a credit card and Google’s Checkout system.
Google wants to work with mobile carriers and put the app charges on the monthly phone bill. Right now, only T-Mobile allows US customers to get charged for apps on the monthly bill. The search engine giant’s recent Agreement change included a new section that mentions “authorized carriers”, seen as indemnified parties.
These changes will take effect in 30 days, so in late August we’ll expect some official words from Google.
