Nokia Android Phone Coming Later This Year?

  • We’ve heard talks about a Samsung Android phone and we’ve even seen one, followed by a similar LG initiative and recently Motorola and Huawei joined the gang of companies interested in working with this platform. Now, Nokia steps in, according to the Guardian who claims that the phone manufacturer will reveal a touchscreen Android device in September, at the Nokia World Event.

    Is the Symbian Foundation not paying off or is their software too out of fashion for Nokia? While reviews are criticising the look of the S60 platform on the N97, Nokia continues to develop the Maemo platform quietly in the background and it’ll probably burst out in all its Linux beauty on some cool MID.

    Could the adoption of Android finally signal the beginning of the end for Symbian?
