  • For some reason Sony chose to debut some handsets this week, instead of CES or MWC 2014. Among them there’s the Xperia E1 model shown below, a lower end device with a 4 inch screen and 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

This model stands out through its speaker, capable of 100 dB output and it comes with a free 30 days pass for Sony Entertainment Network. The handset will have a dual SIM version and inside it we find a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. Xperia E1 will be available in black, white and purple and it will feature a 1700 mAh battery.

There’s no pricing yet, but expectations are around 145 quid or so, free of contract. This budget Xperia has a dedicated Walkman button, something we haven’t seen in a long time. The product relies on technologies like ClearAudio+ and xLOUD for an excellent acoustic experience, so this is truly a Wakman phone at its core.
