  • Sony Xperia Ion was just announced early this month at CES and already we’re hearing details about its price. This model is now up for pre order with Negri Electronics listing it unlocked and SIM-free, with a price tag of $569.50. The specs list mentions support for 3G/HSPA on 2100 mAH, so you’ll use this device easily in Europe and parts of Asia.

The main appeal of this phone is its 12 megapixel camera, with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p 30 fps video capture. This is a Gingerbread smartphone, with an Android 4.0 update planned in the near future. It also has a dual core 1.5GHz processor of the Qualcomm Snapdragon kind and it comes with 1GB of RAM, LTE where it’s available and a case that’s 10.8mm thick. Its display is a 720p one with a 4.55 inch diagonal. With all of that goodness, it’s hard to believe that this model won’t be a hit, even with the price mentioned above.

I’m sure it will drop and even reach the likes of $200, when it hits carriers with 2 year contracts included. Do you plan on getting one, or do you want to jump on the quad core smartphone bandwagon, that will get rolling at MWC 2012? Or maybe you want that hot, sexy Samsung Galaxy S III, that’s supposed to be unveiled soon…
