Asus P565 Is Alive! 800 MHz Processor on Board Makes it the Fastest Smartphone

Asus has just announced the P565 Windows Mobile smartphone, which features a 2.8 inch VGA screen and the famous Glide interface. The screen is a TFT touchscreen with a 480 x 640 pixels resolution, as for the connectivity, you get HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, UMTA 2100, EDGE/GPRS, GSM 900/1800/1900 and Class 10 support.
Operating on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the device comes in a bar type form factor and weighs 120 grams with a battery that lasts about 250-300 hours in standby mode (3G) or 200-250 hours (2G). The battery’s talk time is 3 hours (3G) or 4 hours (2G). The above-mentioned processor is a Marvell TavorP and the smartphone’s specs list also includes 256MB Flash and 128 MB DDR SDRAM.
Add a microSD slot with SDHC support to that and we’ve got a neat package, for an unknown price and with an unknown launch date. There’s also a GPS on board and tons of business apps, plus a 3 megapixel camera that can record video (QVGA 24fps). Expect this smartphone to compete directly with the likes of BlackBerry Storm and XPERIA X1, both in quality and price.
