HTC Titan II, the first 16 megapixel mainstream phone, announced at CES this month has just been spotted at the FCC with AT&T LTE included. The device was discovered in official documents with the codename HTC PI86100 and it seems to support AT&T-specific LTE bands (4 and 17). Documents show that a production unit of the handset will arrive pretty soon, although we have no idea when.

As I said, the Titan II was showcased at CES, in Las Vegas and it’s a follow-up to last autumn’s huge display Windows Phone model, the Titan. It keeps the big screen diagonal of 4.7 inches, the 800 x 480 pixel resolution and it’s still a pretty heavy and thick unit, at 13mm and 147 grams. It doesn’t have a memory card slot, but what it does have is a potent 16 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, BSI sensor, image stabilization and the surprisingly underwhelming 720p 30 fps video capture.

It appears that this model also has a secondary camera, a 1.3MP sensor. The CPU inside is a Qualcomm S2 Snapdragon 1.5GHz one and we also get DLNA, HSDPA, stereo FM radio with RDS and a Li-Ion 1730 mAh battery. If you had to choose between this phone and the Nokia Lumia 900, what would you choose?

If you’re drooling at the idea of buying the just announced (at CES) Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone unit, know that you’ll be able to get the 4.3 inch smartphone for $99.99 on AT&T starting March 18th. The info comes from AT&T’s Q1 2012 roadmap.

Of course, the price applies to a 2 year contract and this flagship smartphone will feature about the same specs as the Lumia 800, aside from the bigger display, obviously. We have a single core 1.4 GHz processor, an 8 megapixel camera, Windows Phone Mango OS, 512 MB of RAM and a 800 x 480 pixel resolution. Keep in mind that the phone has yet to receive technical approval, so we may be in for a delay.

The price point could make this handset a huge hit, like it was in the UK and France. I must remind you that Nokia sold over 1 million Lumia units since these models were made available late last year. With the Lumia 900 and rumored Lumia 910 12MP model coming, things might get big this year.

As you may already know, this week Nokia announced the Lumia 900 handset in Las Vegas at CES 2012. We know all these is to know about this phone, aside from the launch date, that was leaked thanks to a recent developer newsletter. Apparently, this Windows Phone model is coming to AT&T in March.

Last I heard inside sources were mentioning the date March 18, as the exact time frame of the debut for this 4.3 inch smartphone. There’s also MWC 2012 coming till then, so we might see some more demos and services specifically created for this model, in order to make the Mango OS experience more appealing. Just a quick reminder of what we’re dealing with here: 1.4GHz processor, support for AT&T LTE, a 4.3 inch AMOLED display, an 8 megapixel camera, front facing cam for video calling and 16GB of storage.

There’s also 512MB of RAM and that beautiful polycarbonate shell that everyone has been raving about since the N9 came out. Rumors say that there’s a multi million dollar marketing campaign behind this phone, that’s meant to take the USA by storm. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what MS and Nokia deliver to us…

After a long period of speculations, Sony Xperia Ion is finally confirmed and it’s coming to AT&T with LTE, a 4.6 inch 720p display and a 12MP camera. We’ve been waiting for the handset for a long time and for any SE model with a dual core processor, for that matter. I’m really curios to see what sales this model will get considering the fact that the competition offers similar feats…

We’ve got the HTC Rezound and Galaxy Nexus with similar screen resolutions, although the camera might provide to be a crucial aspect here, since we all know what Sony can deliver on this front. Sadly, this model will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is coming as an upgrade. The 12MP shooter uses an Exmor R sensor and Sony promises us that the cam will go from standby to ready for shooting mode in 1.5 seconds.

NFC and the latest in 4G tech are available on the Xperia Ion and the design involves an aluminum shell, that’s promoted as lightweight, thin and durable. The screen on this phone uses Mobile Bravia Reality Display technology. If this model is priced anywhere around $200 with contract, it’s a definite keeper!

In case you’re wondering what Samsung and AT&T will unveil at CES 2012, that’s the Galaxy Note, seen in the huge poster below. We’ve reviewed this device a while ago and found that it has a fantastic camera, a great display and a stylus that’s actually useful and unique. Expect this product to come to AT&T soon, maybe in a white version aside from the default black one.

Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a 5.3 inch HD display (1280 x 800 pixels), a dual core Exynos processor and at its back there’s also an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture. AT&T will start selling the product on February 14, so it would make a nice Valentine’s Day gift for your business woman of a girlfriend. I wonder if this device will come with Gingerbread from the start or get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich till launch time.

Sprint is also expected to launch a version of the stylus-totting smartphone/tablet, but that will probably happen somewhere else than CES. In the meantime I want to see what’s different from the European Galaxy Note in this American flavour, so we have to wait a few more hours till the Samsung press conference and hands on experience.

Pantech is one of those Asian brands that wants a bigger piece of the US mobile market and they’re not afraid to show it. Their latest initiative involves the Pantech P4100 tablet that’s meant for AT&T with LTE support. Now, a handset comes along with the same features and carrier orientation. I’m talking about the Pantech P9070, with LTE and recent FCC confirmation.

This mysterious device is pictured in the diagram below and other than that it’s completely mysterious. We could see it taking off at CES 2012. I have to say that the camera sensor looks pretty fancy, so it might be an 8 megapixel unit with pretty strong photo features. The device could reach AT&T about the same time as the P4100 tablet, with a good dual action going on here. A quick look at this design makes me think about HTC for some reason.

Also, the battery on this thing seems pretty big, so it should provide enough juice to support your LTE craving. Well, at least this model has a microSD card slot, unlike the Galaxy Nexus, yet another LTE smartphone from Verizon’s offer. They have quite a bunch of those, including the Motorola Droid RAZR, HTC Rezound and soon the Droid 4. I guess that the Pantech P9070 can be seen as their lower end sidekick, right?

We’ve heard that the Nokia Lumia 900 might come with LTE connectivity, but now it appears that there’s actually a device made by the Finns that’s being tested on AT&T and Verizon for such functions. As far as I know Windows Phone 7.5 Mango doesn’t support 4G LTE connectivity, but maybe the next Windows Phone version will.

CNET is saying that Nokia is testing a 4G LTE handset with carriers, trying to accelerate the carrier approval process. We’re expecting a flagship phone from the Nordic company in early 2012, one that’s rumored to run Windows Phone Tango and pack the same 1.4GHz processor as the Lumia 800 and 710. However, it could be that this 4.3 inch ClearBlack AMOLED phone will come with 4G, an 8 megapixel camera and maybe a front camera as well. Verizon is already known for a big portofolio of LTE devices, that include the Droid RAZR, HTC Rezound and Galaxy Nexus, while AT&T is barely catching up.

CES 2012 is starting in a few weeks and this is where we’ll see what novelty the phone makers have prepared for us. Maybe we’ll even see that rumored Nokia tablet that everyone was talking about…with Windows 8 and a bigger Nokia N9 format, just maybe…

There’s a trio of 720p display phones in the USA now and you have to pick between the HTC Rezound, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and thee LG Nitro HD. However, it’s only the latter that you’ll find in shops, unless I’m mistaking. LG is as usual the first to jump on the bandwagon of new technology, as they did with dual core CPUs and they do now with a HD display.

LG Nitro HD, also known as the LG Optimus LTE comes with LTE connectivity and it’s priced at $249.99 with a 2 year contract on AT&T. There’s also a price tag of $599.99 if you don’t like commitments. The phone offers you a 4.5 inch display with 720p resolution, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 4GB of internal memory and an 8 megapixel camera at the back with support for 1080p full HD video capture.

LG nitro HD seems to have impressed the folks of The Verge, who praise its feel and camera. The LTE seems to be pretty poor on AT&T, however, or so claim the folks who tested the handset. Is Verizon and its LTE smartphones a better choice? Is AT&T too new in this Long Term Evolution game?

After some rumors and speculations, AT&T finally came out and announced that LG Nitro HD, also known as the LG Optimus LTE in some parts of the world. This is actually the first 720p display smartphone that was officially announced, even before the days of the Galaxy Nexus.

AT&T plans on selling the device starting December 4th, with a price tag of $249.99. LG Optimus LTE/ Nitro HD is the first smartphone on AT&T to feature a HD display and said screen comes with a 4.5 inch diagonal. There’s also a 1.5GHz dual core processor on board, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture and 4G LTE connectivity.

A 16GB microSD card will be bundled with the handset, that will also offer the user 4GB of internal memory. The price mentioned above obviously includes a two year contract and AT&T also lets us know that its 4G LTE service has now expanded to 15 markets and it plans on reaching 70 million Americans by the end of the year.

AT&T is preparing to launch a white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket smartphone. Don’t expect many changes, aside from the color of this device, that was introduced in its black version earlier this month on this carrier. Apparently, the design is also tweaked, since the new handset is a bit bigger and wider than the original Galaxy S II.

Some other Galaxy S II versions, the Focus S and the Infuse 4G were also made available not so long ago, but the white hue should give them a more interesting and clean look. We’re not yet sure when the white Skyrocket will arrive, but I supposed that “soon” is a good answer. If Samsung Galaxy S II continues to get varied versions of itself, it might beat 20 or 30 million units easily before the next iPhone is launched.

If this is not success, I don’t know what is and I’d like to see on an impartial blog a couple of figures regarding the Galaxy S II sales and the iPhone 4 sales… I have a feeling that Apple might not be so far ahead as people think. What do you say? Is it time for the Samsung smartphone to take over the world?
