  • After a long week of waiting and tons of rumour regarding Dell’s first phone, we’ve finally had a chance to look at the brand new smartphone, Dell Mini 3i, that got showcased in China. The handset runs the Android-based Open Mobile System and packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen with a 360 x 640 pixel resolution.

Dell Mini 3i was used to showcase the abilities of the new China Mobile Application Platform, that delivers music, video and apps to handsets made by Samsung, LG, Nokia and now Dell. This is a candybar device we’re talking about, one that lacks WiFi and even 3G, so it’s pretty disappointing when compared to what we were expecting.

However, one might be pleased with the fact that Dell Mini 3i features a 3 megapixel camera, a microSD slot, Bluetooth and a 950 mAh battery. As a last fact, we must mention, that unlike the iPhone and the latest touchscreen devices, there’s no front button to control the Home screen or navigate in menus, so Dell Mini 3i will be relying on its touchscreen.
