  • Google has recently introduced an expanded system of mobile reporting in Google Analytics, allowing users to view how people are using the iPhone and Android apps. You’ll be able to track two types of user interaction: pageviews and events, but more details on the new features can be found in the video below, in which Redfin (online brokerage) shows its opinion on Google Analytics for mobile:

It should be mentioned that mobile apps don’t contain HTML pages, so developers will have to figure out when their apps can trigger pageview requests. Google Analytics will aggregate this data in the Content reports and it’ll display the number of visits, session length and bounce rates, showing how the users interacted with the app.

Other visitor actions that can be tracked are the views of embedded videos, button clicks, downloads and others. Don’t forger to check out the SDK and technical documentation to get started using Google Analytics.
