Google Latitude Allows You to Track Location History; Get Notified When Friends Are Near

Google Latitude has just had its features enhanced, by implementing a Location History feature and Google Location Alerts (beta), allowing you to know when friends are near, so you can get lunch together, if you want.

Google Location History allows users to view, store and manage past Latitude locations, in case they want to review the places they’ve visited during their latest trips. Google Maps and Earth will display your history, play back a recent trip and remember the names of unique places you might have forgotten about.

Location Alerts is a smart feature, that uses Location History and recognizes your routine/regular locations, plus it notifies you when friends are near. Alerts will be sent when close ones are nearby, but not in the usual places, like work or school, in order to keep notifications from being annoying. Enable these feats by visiting google.com/latitude/apps.
