The reason for this swap? As PC World claims in a recent article, the current AMOLED screens supplied by Samsung suffer from shortage issues, so a replacement is needed. The SLCD screens are bound to offer a “comparable visual experience” to current AMOLED screens and they also have the advantage of increasing battery life.

SLCD screens are 5 times less power hungry than Samsung’s AMOLED displays.
