Rybarczyk Francois imagined a concept of a HTC phone with an optional battery module that you can detach and charge separately. Thus, when you attach it to the handset you’ll give it the extra power it needs. He also imagined a future where we use no wires and you can simply plug in the phone to a power source, without requiring an extra wire. Here’s the device:

This HTC concept uses a magnesium unibody chassis and its design also involves a lower back side imprinted with an unique pattern, done by machining. This model looks a bit like the recently leaked HTC Edge quad core phone and it keeps the usual HTC lines and elegance. The design imagined this unit both with Windows Phone and Android, but I fancy the letter more, because of the way it integrates those capacitive keys. The idea of the battery module inserted into the phone is even more useful when you think of all those LTE smartphones that drain their batteries so fast.

Also, with all the wireless syncing going on, we’re one step away from getting rid of the USB cable, so why not get rid of it for good and simply plug the phone’s charging socket into the power source and get rid of other accessories such as charger and cables. What do you say?

HTC Ville is among the most interesting new devices promised for showcasing at MWC 2012. It’s supposed to be the thinnest HTC smartphone ever and bring some pretty appealing specs. Now we also have a bunch of live pics with this model, that you can see below, as well as some specs, that are reconfirmed by insiders.

Ville is supposed to be unveiled on February 26th, together with another new model, the quad core Edge. As far as HTC Ville goes, this ultrathin handset is expected to have a profile of 8.9mm and while that may not be impressive compared to Samsung’s last year Galaxy S II and its 8.5mm waist, it’s still impressive for a HTC phone. This is a midrange phone with a qHD AMOLED display, that has a 4.3 inch diagonal. There’s also a dual core 1.5 GHz processor on board, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS and Sense 4.0 as the UI of choice.

The chipset that powers this device hasn’t been mentioned yet, but it’s probably the MSM8260 Snapdragon, that was used on the Sensation XE. We’re only 20 days away from the big unveiling at MWC, so I guess that more leaks will follow in the next weeks. Maybe we’ll also get a clearer glimpse of the Ville and its interface and maybe this time we’ll have a more clear video of what’s going on…

Since Samsung is supposedly preparing a Samsung Galaxy S II Plus model with Android 4.0 preinstalled, HTC decided to reply with a similar measure. They’re getting ready to release the original Sensation with a version that has Android Ice Cream Sandwich preinstalled and this model will be released on Mach 1st, at least in Holland.

The info comes from a press release of HTC’s Dutch office and it amuses me to see that HTC would do anything but offer a decent update. I mean, how low can you go? Do they actually expect to sell these handsets? Maybe they’ll do the same thing as Samsung and also give us hardware upgrades, like an extra bump to the CPU and RAM. We all know how much the Sensation needs that… I guess this means that we can kiss an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the current Sensation models goodbye, since HTC wouldn’t make the mistake of upgrading the device to ICS and then sell a “new” product with the single appeal being the new OS, right?

Well, I guess we’re left with drooling at the HTC Edge and HTC Ville models that will come at MWC 2012. One is a quad core hottie and the other one is the thinnest HTC Smartphone ever… and they’d better have Android 4.0 installed, I tell you!

HTC Ville, the unannounced handset known as the thinnest in the portofolio of the Taiwanese company is back in the news, this time thanks to a video that shows it in action. This ultraslim phone, rumored to be less than 8mm thick should debut next month at MWC 2012, in Barcelona, but till then feast your eyes on the leak below.

BGR reported exclusively last year that HTC Ville would be thinner than the latest Phone and it would come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4.0. Its specs are rumored to include a 4.3 inch qHD display based on Super AMOLED technology, a 1.5GHz dual core Snadpragon S4 CPU and an 8 megapixel camera. There’s also HSPA+ among the specs and a 1650 mAh battery. HTC Hub is the source of the leak and thanks to them we see Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich in action together with Sense 4.0 running on this phone.

Aside from the Ville we’re expecting an announcement of the quad core HTC Edge phone at MWC and also a quad core tablet. I’m really curious about the price tag and launch time frame of this model, but I’m guessing that Spring should cover the launch date, right? It sure seems ready for debut to me…

HTC Titan II, the first 16 megapixel mainstream phone, announced at CES this month has just been spotted at the FCC with AT&T LTE included. The device was discovered in official documents with the codename HTC PI86100 and it seems to support AT&T-specific LTE bands (4 and 17). Documents show that a production unit of the handset will arrive pretty soon, although we have no idea when.

As I said, the Titan II was showcased at CES, in Las Vegas and it’s a follow-up to last autumn’s huge display Windows Phone model, the Titan. It keeps the big screen diagonal of 4.7 inches, the 800 x 480 pixel resolution and it’s still a pretty heavy and thick unit, at 13mm and 147 grams. It doesn’t have a memory card slot, but what it does have is a potent 16 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, BSI sensor, image stabilization and the surprisingly underwhelming 720p 30 fps video capture.

It appears that this model also has a secondary camera, a 1.3MP sensor. The CPU inside is a Qualcomm S2 Snapdragon 1.5GHz one and we also get DLNA, HSDPA, stereo FM radio with RDS and a Li-Ion 1730 mAh battery. If you had to choose between this phone and the Nokia Lumia 900, what would you choose?

After so many Sony Xperia leaks, it’s time to have fun with a HTC newcomer, that has just reached the interwebs. I’m talking about the HTC Primo model, that’s shown in the picture below and seems to be a budget handset with Android 4.0 and Beats Audio technology. I expect this device to be showcased next month at Mobile World Congress in Spain.

This mid-range phone only has the render above for now and no real life picture. It’s rumored that HTC Primo will feature a 3.7 inch qHD AMOLED screen, a 1GHz dual core Qualcomm ticker and 512MB of RAM. Rumors also say that it will come with Gorilla Glass, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video capture and maybe a $250 to $300 price tag with a new 2 year contract. With HTC quad core phones being ready for MWC, it’s easy to understand why this model is a mid range unit.

A dual core phone for $250 could become a popular offer this year and I expect at some point that such prices will apply without contracts, as the technology becomes obsolete. I have to say that the Beats logo upfront looks a bit strange, so I prefer it at the back… Also, I’m curios to see what that 5MP cam can do, considering that the Galaxy Nexus also had a 5MP shooter and it made the most of it.

With all the leaks we’ve seen from HTC lately, MWC 2012 won’t be that big of a surprise… but today things got official, since HTC started sending out invites to the February 26th even it has scheduled in Barcelona. The focus of this conference will most likely be the unveiling of a bunch of new quad core phones and tablets, like the ones I’ve been seeing over the past months.

No details were included in the invitation, but one can easily speculate that we’ll see uber smartphones such as the HTC Edge (now Endeavor) at the show. Pictured above, this quad core handset will have a 4.7 inch 720p screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a Tegra 3 quad core ticker. 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera with hopefully better camera than the Sensation model and maybe more than 16GB of storage are expected here. This could be one of the first HTC Sense 4.0 devices.

Another upcoming phone, pictured below is the HTC Ville, that everyone is claiming to be the thinnest HTC smartphone ever. This one is supposed to come to T-Mobile, as the first HTC Sense 4.0 unit, with a 4.3 inch Super AMOELD display, a qHD res and a dual core 1.5GHz processor, plus an 8 megapixel camera and Beats technology.

Completing the list of 2012 HTC phones is HTC Supreme, a total mystery that might use a quad core CPU as we;l. It might as well be the European version of the Endeavor… On the tablets side we get the HTC Quattro, the first effort of the company on the quad core tablet market. HTC Quattro will incorporate a 10.1 inch 1280 x 768 pixel display, the same CPU as the Endeavor, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and a 2 megapixel camera at the back, plus Beats audio tech.

HTC Titan II will also be present to be showcased again, after being unveiled at CES and maybe we’ll see some Windows Phone Tango devices this time…

The last time I heard about Apple, Android and “nuclear weapons” in the same sentence, Steve Jobs was willing to destroy Android by “going thermonuclear”, as he stated and was quoted in his biography. Now HTC CEO Peter Chou is saying that the latest Samsung and Apple phones can be regarded as nuclear weapons, that’s how good they are.

However, the same official mentioned that “a good solider will not fear battles” and compared his team with a strong army. Recently HTC broke the chain of consecutive quarters with profit increases, by dropping a bit in revenue. That’s probably because of the lack of innovation when launching handsets at the end of 2011. Just look at the single core Sensation XL, HTC Titan and HTC Rhyme and you’ll have your answer… HTC is still preparing for MWC 2012, where it will most likely unveil some appealing quad core phones, like the rumored Edge model.

At CES they only showed the HTC Titan II with what looks like an impressive 16 megapixel camera, but it’s not all in megapixels these days, so they must offer some other innovation soon, or they’ll be left behind. We’ve also yet to see a decent tablet from HTC, one that makes a splash like the ASUS models… And maybe they’ll stop brawling with Apple in court and really start innovating.

T-Mobile didn’t show much at CES 2012, but maybe they were saving their strength for MWC 2012 or for the Spring, who knows? Turns out that they have a premiere coming, the thinnest HTC smartphone ever: HTC Ville.

This model has been leaked before, but now we have more solid info about it, courtesy of Evan Blass of Pocketnow. T-Mobile will begin selling this model this Spring, if the source is to be believed. The thin smartphone is expected to debut at MWC 2012 with the rumored specs from November 2011 becoming real this time. They include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Sense UI 4.0 and a dual core Snapdragon S4 1.5Ghz processor.

HTC Ville also comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD screen, Beats Audio, Adreno 225 GPU and an 8 megapixel camera with great capture abilities. There’s also a 1650 mAh battery on board of this newcomer, apparently. On the design side, we get a handset that’s less than 8mm thick, a big achievement for HTC, that didn’t quite make the thinnest phones out there. There’s also another rumored model coming, the HTC Family, that will be focused on family interaction between members via geolocation tools.

HTC started CES 2012 well today, by announcing a very interesting Windows Phone model, that packs LTE and a very impressive 16 megapixel camera: HTC Titan II. Follow-up to the first 4.7 inch smartphone in the world, Titan II will come to AT&T and give us a taste of their 4G power. No idea on the price tag of this device, although I expect it to be pretty big.

The handset’s camera comes with a dual LED flash and BSI sensor for low light and underwhelming 720p video capture capabilities, although I hope for more out of this sensor. There’s also a 1.3MP front camera involved here and as far as the rest of the specs go, we get a single core 1.5GHz processor, a 1,730 mAh battery and a 4.7 inch display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. It seems that this is merely a HTC Titan with a stronger camera, better connectivity and maybe some minor design changes.

Now let’s see what price AT&T applies to this Windows Phone device, that I bet will run version Tango of the OS and maybe even support Windows Phone Apollo when it comes… What do you think about it?
