HTC Details Future Design Direction

  • In a recent interview with Forbes, One & Co, HTC’s newly acquired design firm detailed the future design direction of the Taiwanese company. Turns out that the look will be kept on the high end side of things, in order to justify the high prices of smartphones.

    Also, the software is said to become more people-centric, or so claims Claude Zellwegger, partner at One & Co. New HTC devices will create a balance between fun and business, both in software and hardware and the fact that these devices are less oriented towards business, specially when compared to Blackberries will be shown by materials, forms and colours.

    Expect playful designs, elegant glossy finishes, but the trademark “chin” of Android devices is here to stay and it’ll never be seen on Windows Mobile HTC phones. Also, the One & Co partner warns us to expect new and original form factors, although we’re hoping for a HTC netbook, to be honest.
