  • Believe it or not, HTC created a piece of software that turns your HTC Windows Mobile phone into a WiFi hotspot. The program is named “Mobile Wi-Fi Router” and it’s available now, supporting only WEP encryption.

WEP can be easily broken, which is OK for casual use, since today’s security standard is WPA2, a tougher cookie than the one mentioned first. For more info, you should visit the XDA Developers forum here and in order to download the program, you’ll need to register for free and download the second CAB file from the top (it creates a link in the Programs folder).

Remember that the software turns the WiFi on, for your phone and that this is better than the similar commercial programs out there with WiFi mobile hotspot functionality, specially because it’s made by HTC.
