  • The Apple-Google duel continues and after seeing Latitude on the iPhone as a web app, by dodging the AppStore, here’s round 2 of the fight: Apple pulled all of the third party apps that relied on Google Voice services from its online software store.

GV Mobile and VoiceCentral have been removed from the AppStore, because (in the case of GV Mobile), the software “duplicates functionality already present on the iPhone”. This move could be caused by the fact that Google is working on its own Google Voice iPhone app, so it might not be as harmful as it seems, if the Mountain View giant’s logo prevails.

I guess that AT&T felt that making cheap calls via Google’s service was not an option and tried to postpone its use, at least for a little bit. I hope they do realize that Google Voice IS coming to the iPhone, one way or the other.
