T-Mobile UK Selling the iPhone 3G Unlocked to Select Customers… What the!?
August 5th, 2009 | by Yorga |
In what seems to be the strangest news today, we’ve just found out that T-Mobile UK is selling the iPhone 3G unlocked to select customers, although O2 has the exclusivity for the handset in the UK.
In order to get your hands on such a device, you’ll need a monthly contract of £75 or more and probably a brave enough T-Mobile UK representative to perform the sale. It’s interesting to note that what the operator is doing it not illegal, since they might be importing the iPhone 3G units from Germany, where T-Mobile is the exclusive carrier for the device.
A clear sign showing that this matter is kind of undercover is the fact that the UK carrier only sells about 150 units per week, in order to keep the folks at Apple cool.
