iriver lanches WAVE Wi-Fi Phone

The famous South Korean electronics maker iriver has just launched its famous WiFi touchscreen phone, WAVE and its specs list is pretty decent. WAVE comes with a 3 inch LCD touch display, WiFi connectivity, VoIP support and works with the Bugs Music service.

iriver’s latest product also features a call forwarding service and this new handsets does video, includes a photo viewer, an electronic dictionary flash games, FM radio and a speaker. Passing to the more technical side, it uses 4GB of Nand Flash memory, USB 2.0 connectivity, Flash Lite 2.0.2 and features SRS WOW HD.

No pricing and launch date info yet, but they’ll come, as CES 2009 is on and it’s filled with such announcements.

iRiver WavePhone Available Now in Korea

iRiver’s WavePhone has just hit the Korean market as the latest WiFi supporting VoIP phone of the country. The handset uses voice over Internet communications and Bugs Music as its music service.

WavePhone comes with a 4GB internal memory, a multimedia player, a 3 inch touchscreen with a WQVGA resolution (480 x 272), SRS WOW HD and Flash Lite 2.0.

The handset also features an electronic dictionary, supports hand-writing recognition and helps improve your pronunciation via its advanced dictionaries and software. iRiver WavePhone is available now and it comes with earphones, a USB cable, a stylus, a battery holder, manuals, driver CDs and a quick start guide.

iriver Wave Phone Hits the Market on March 9 2009

After seeing famous GPS manufacturers like Garmin enter the smartphone business, it’s time for digital media player maker iriver to launch a mobile phone as well. The device, named “Wave” will hit the Korean market on March 9 2009 through KT, the second largest local carrier.

The handset’s design resembles that of a media player and you might be interested to know that the device features a cool BlackBerry-style trackball and a TFT touchscreen (400 x 272 pixels). iriver wave comes with handwriting recognition, WiFi, Bugs Music Service, dictionaries and 4GB of internal memory plus 4 more via memory card.

Wave measures 110.5 x 52.5 x 15.5 mm, weighs 103 grams, but sadly its price is not known yet, although we have a feeling that it will only hit Korea, at least for a few months.
