Kyocera Luce KCP01K, also known as Luch is a brand new smartphone that’s resilient to dust, shock and water. Its specs are quite modest and looks aren’t its strong suit. The newcomer seems to have a special protective shell strapped on top of its plastic case.

We’re dealing with an Android 4.4 KitKat handset here, with a 4.5 inch display, that supports a 960 x 540 pixel resolution, plus on board we have a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, as well as 8 GB of storage and 1.5 GB of RAM. This model is supposed to be cheap, priced at $283 and it also comes with Seg TV, NFC, a 2000 mAh battery and an 8 megapixel back camera.

There’s also a front 2 megapixel shooter and the above mentioned display is a TFT LCD one. This model measures 11.2 mm in thickness, weighs about 139 grams and offers mobile wallet features. It sounds like a pretty bulky affair, but that’s typical for a rugged phone.
