Microsoft Launching Zune Phone/Zune HD Rumours Once Again Denied; Twitter Fake Revealed
May 13th, 2009 | by ThryStan |
Yesterday the Internet was abuzz with the fact that Microsoft had just announced on its fresh Twitter account (made for promoting Office 2010) that there’s something neat for Zune fans, coming in June. Another tweet claimed that the public shouldn’t buy an iPhone or Palm Pre just yet, hinting towards a Zune phone launch.
Too bad that it was all a hoax…
The Twitter account wasn’t legit, as it was created by a guy who eventually confessed that he was pulling a prank on us all. Microsoft’s spokesperson, Brian Seitz cleared the matter, by saying that the Zune rumours posted on Twitter were fake.
However, Brian had previously promised new Zune devices this year, so we’re up for something cool next month, although not as exciting as a Zune Phone (Project Pink) would be.
