T-Mobile and AT&T are both getting ready to have a piece of the BlackBerry Bold 2 pie, also dubbed Onyx. Turns out that both carriers will announce the handset on October 21 and we remind you that this device comes with a touchpad and it bears the 9700 model number, leaked before.

Guess what’s coming to T-Mobile USA this year? It’s the BlackBerry 9700 handset, also known as Onyx, that just got pictured below in an official image. This if the carrier’s first 3G BlackBerry smartphone and we found out that it sports a premium design, thanks to its high-gloss black finish and leather grain details at the back.

Some pictures showing a BlackBerry device that could be the Onyx have just surfaced on the web and we know that this is a 3G GSM handset, a smaller version of the BlackBerry Bold.
Onyx also borrows from Niagara/Tour, when it comes to design and we’ve found out that it should hit AT&T at some point, but also T-Mobile, bearing the name of Driftwood...
