Well, if it ain’t the leak of the week?! HTC just managed to leak the entire portofolio of smartphones for the first half of 2010. The portofolio was presented in Venna in October, during a global meeting and somehow it got pictured/scanned and leaked on the web. As you can see, the handsets are divided into categories: Design, Performance, Social and Productivity.

There’s also a 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED display among the features, a 16GB microSD card in-box, a 1400 mAh battery and also an April release date attached to the story. The device runs Android and uses a 5 megapixel camera.

HTC_Photon

The Productivity category includes 3 handsets: HTC Photon, HTC Trophy and HTC Tera. These are Windows Mobile 6.5 phones coming in April, May and probably summer 2010, respectively. HTC Touch B aka Rome Gets Pictured, Specs Coming Soon

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

The folks of Mobifrance have managed to score some pictures of HTC Rome, also known as HTC Touch. B and they promise to release the specs of the device today. This mystery handset might be an Android phone and it resembles HTC Touch2 greatly, when it comes to design.

touchB_2

Will the phone be part of the Droid series? We’ll just have to wait and see…

I’m wondering if this is a 1 GHz CPU phone with a hot interface and all the cool specs, or a more average smartphone with a 600+ MHz processor and moderate features…

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Just two days before the grand debut of Nokia World 2009, we have a look at the pictures taken with the aid of one of its stars, Nokia N900. The Internet tablet was recently announced as available for pre-order in countries like Italy, France or Germany, with a pretty big $800 price tag. Here are some shots taken with its embedded camera:

Before you comment on the quality of the shots, remember that they were taken with a prototype and that the software is not final, Maemo OS that is. Notice that photos are widescreen and only few of them use the full capacity of the 5 megapixel sensor.

Looking forward to the Nokia World 2009 showcasing of the device!

Sony Ericsson C902 Versus Nikon D80

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

We know that this battle can only have one winner, but the idea’s original enough to have us looking at the pictures, as we search for resemblances, defects and advantages. Esato board user Plankgatan took the following pics and the first photo below was taken with the aid of the SE C902.

c902_1

Next is the photo taken using Nikon D80 and in case you’re interested in details, know that the C902’2 focal length is 5.2, while the Nikon’s is 50.0. Also, this is a battle between a CMOS (C902) sensor and the CCD one of the D80. What’s the cellphone got against the tough DSLR?

d80_1

Nothing, actually and you should also know that both cams are set on full auto, while the Nikon D80 is set on 5.6 megapixels, instead of 10, giving the cameraphone a chance. Remember that in the following batch of 4 photos, the first one is always the one taken with the C902 and the second is the work of the D80.

We also learn that underneath the case there’s a faster CPU, when compared to BB Storm’s processor, plus more memory and we’re even hoping for multitasking, if that’s not too much to ask.

Rumour has it that BlackBerry Storm 2 will hit the market before the holiday season, maybe competing with a potential Nokia N98… Meh, we’re dreaming again…

Among the innovations of this hot handset there’s an optical trackball, dedicated media player buttons and a LCD protector that also covers the buttons for an more polished look. The buttons of the new Curve are coated in rubber and the device is all black, for a more elegant approach.

The downside to the Gemini is the lack of 3G support, but there are many folks out there eager to get their hands on a new Curve, specially for that optical trackball, so such a flaw can be ignored.

SE Xperia Face to Face with Touch Pro

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Two of the hottest mobile phones of the moment, Sony Ericsson Xperia and HTC Touch Pro have been put one next to the other in some pictures taken by CNET Asia. The comparison makes it difficult to set huge differences, as the two handsets are very much similar.

Touch Pro looks smaller, although wider and sleeker, since it gave up old fashioned buttons to the limit. On the other hand, Sony Ericsson Xperia looks stylish and also has some positive user comments to back it up.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so it might just be the case with these two high end mobile phones which make the best of touchscreen. So please have a look at them and tell us just what you think.
