  • Mozilla has just revealed its first two developer phones for Firefox OS, Keon and Peak, pictured below. We’re dealing here with a handset from the midrange area and a lower end unit, affectionately called “Geeksphones”. Keon is the first Firefox OS developer phone and it comes with a 1 GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen and a 3 megapixel camera.

It’s meant for the entry level market, while the Peak is a more solid unit, with a dual core CPU. The Keon has a 1 GHz Snapdragon S1 CPU, 3.5 inch HVGA display and a 3 megapixel camera. It also has 4 GB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, microSD, WiFi, GPS and a 1580 mAh battery. On the higher end of things is Peak, with a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.2 GHz processor, a 4.3 inch IPS qHD Display and an 8 megapixel back camera, while upfront we’ve got a 2 megapixel shooter.

This model also has 4 GB of ROM and 512 MB of RAM, as well as microSD, GPS and a 1800 mAh camera. Both units are supposed to be available unlocked and SIM-free, ready for coders to play with. They will be shipped starting from February, with pricing remaining a mystery for now.
