iGO My Way, Tested on HTC HD2, iPhone 3G and Nexus One (Video)
The folks of Mobilissimo did a pretty interesting series of reviews of the famous iGO My Way navigational software, made by Nav N Go. They tested the software on 3 different platforms: Windows Mobile 6.5.3 (HTC HD2), iPhone OS (iPhone 3G) and Android 2.1 (Nexus One). Here’s the iGO My Way experience on HTC HD2:
We have to mention that iGO was initially designed to run on Windows Mobile, so it’s doing a great job on HTC HD2, successfully replacing a standalone GPS unit. As far as the iPhone 3G is concerned, the software worked great on it, thanks to a more user-friendly and easy to use interface, known as Amigo. This version is more fresh and elegant than the Windows Mobile one and can be seen in action in the following video:
The Nexus One version of iGO My Way was the one giving the reviewers a hard time, specially since it only worked on a third of the screen, not being optimized for WVGA displays. Another issue is the laggy software, that can even take you in the wrong direction. Here’s what iGO is all about on the Google Phone:
At the end of the tests, Mobilissimo.ro mentioned that their favorite version of iGO My Way was the iPhone one, followed by Windows Mobile and Android.
