  • ViewRanger, the famous outdoor navigation software is now available for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and other future Symbian S60 touchscreen handsets. This “off-road satellite navigation app” allows the user to access detailed topographic mapping from all over Europe and get rich content, like points of interest and leisure route guides.

You can download the maps directly to your handset through WLAN or mobile Internet, the web or by side-loading. ViewRanger uses the unique 3D Panoramic Viewpoint maps, that will work great on touchscreen-based phones, allowing the user to drag, select and interact with points of interest and key features.

ViewRanger have partnered with Walkingworld.com publishers that provide over 4500 detailed walking guides and the app also uses a huge library of leisure route guides, but for more details on that, you should check out this dedicated website.

Interesting outdoor help application. But once google earth migrates to the iPhone, traces of this application would seem like a fragment of the past.
