Samsung App Store Available in Europe Starting September 14th
Samsung has just announced today an App Store of its own for the smartphones it makes. The service will go live on September 14th and it’ll be available in the UK, Italy and France, followed by Germany, Spain and about 30 more countries. Omnia and I8910HD will have priority at first and then, the service will also serve apps for Omnia II I8000 and OmniaLITE B7300 users.
In order for the service to work, Omnia and I8910 HD owners will have to upgrade their handsets, plus download and install the mobile client from here. The client will be available in English, French and Italian, providing credit card and phone billing support, plus it’ll host 300 native apps.
The number will grow to 2,000 by the end of 2009 and among the companies providing the software there are Gameloft, Capcom, Diotek, Electronic Arts and more.
