Surprise, Surprise! iPhone 2.2’s Magic Trick with Video Out

A new video surfaced over the internet, proving one new talent for the iPhone. The phone can connect to a TV rather than to the built-in screen, making it possible to view applications on a big screen, instead of the small one of the phone’s.

Ars Technica confirmed the existence of a programming class in the iPhone SDK, known as MPTVOutWindow. This uses the Dock Connector port to send images to an outside source, such as an external screen.

The demonstration looks pretty impressive and might give some good ideas to developers who are looking for solutions to improve the iPhone experience even more.
