TomTom iPhone App Now Available

August 21st, 2009 | by ThryStan |

TomTom has finally hit the Apple AppStore and it’s now available for iPhone handsets, after being announced back in June at WWDC. Here’s a short presentation of the turn by turn navigation software for iPhone:

The app comes with turn-by-turn directions support, voice-guided navigation, points of interest, route options and night colors. Also, we learn that TomTom is perfectly integrated into the iPhone, using its addressbook, the pinch and zoom interface and accelerometer on board, in order to switch from landscape to portrait and viceversa.

The folks who reviewed this new app claimed that it comes with a couple of glitches, like directing the user to a location in a nearby field, or several bugs that appear when you deviate from the set direction. You can buy the TomTom app for $99.99, or go for iGo My Way 2009, or even Navigon mobile navigator.
