Windows Mobile Smartphones Get Medical Use, Work With USB Imagers
Researches at Washington University, in St. Louis have developed a mobile medical imager, compatible with Windows Mobile handsets, via an USB connexion. This neat technology can be used in developing countries, in order to take an ultrasound, discover potential damage done to the child still in the womb and many more.
The images get sent to a specialist afterwards, in order to get a proper analysis and feedback in about one hour. MIT is setting up some trials of the new medical gadgets in third world countries, so we’ll be able to determine the gender of our baby on the go and even watch food as it passes through the digestive system.
