  • Motorola Droid sold very well in the US, via Verizon, with speculations claiming that it managed to move 1 million units in the month since its launch. Now, we learn that Droid’s European version, Milestone also sold pretty well in the UK, where the exclusive retailer eXpansys sold out the handset in just hours after its launch.

The official statement of eXpansys says that the first shipment of Milestone units was depleted within 3 hours of the sales start. This makes the handset the fastest selling gadget in the website’s 11 year history, even surpassing the iPhone.

The question is how many units the retailer had available for the initial sale, but what we do know is that they received over 1,000 pre-orders for the handset. In case you want a phone like this, know that new shipments are on the way, so Christmas deliveries shouldn’t be a problem.
