Verizon Launches 2 New Motorola Handsets: Rapture VU30 and MOTO VU204

Verizon Wireless has a treat for its public, no less than 2 clamshell devices branded Motorola, accompanied by a Bluetooth headset, the MOTOPURE H15. Motorola Rapture VU30 is available right now and promises to be one of the best clamshells ever created by MOTO, but don’t expect any high-end features from it.

Rapture VU30 comes with 1X/EV-DO connectivity (800/1900 MHz), a 2.2 inch TFT QVGA internal display, a 1.6 inch touch-sensitive TFT external display (120 x 160 pixels) and a 2 megapixel camera with video recording. You also get V Cast Music with Rhapsody and V Cast Videos support on this device, plus VZ Navigator and a neat music player.

A 2.5mm headset jack is in place and the specs list goes on with email and Internet browser, a microSD slot (8GB max) and a battery that offers you 270 minutes of talk time and 470 hours of standby. You can buy the VU30 for $129.99, with a 2 year contract and get a 50 bucks mail-in rebate, or get it with a monthly contract, but that will cost you $300.

The second release of the day is the MOTO VU204 (above), not available in stores yet, but with a decent specs list as well: VZ Navigator, Verizon Media Center, e-mail, IM, Stereo Bluetooth, VGA camera (with dedicated key). The VU204 is cheaper than the VU30, $29.99 plus two year contract, after $50 mail-in rebate.

There’s also a third release, but this Motorola product is no phone, the MOTOPURE H15 being an universal Bluetooth headset, compatible with both handsets mentioned above. Available from October 8, this baby will sell for $99.99.
