  • We’ve seen the Nokia 2600 announcement at the beginning of the year, but now it finally hits the US shores, via AT&T in black and red. The handset is available for free with a two year contract or unlocked for $150. Just by the looks of it, you can tell that this is a low-end device we’re dealing with:

The specs aren’t impressive at all, but hey useful is not always beautiful… Nokia 2600 comes with dual band GSM/GPRS support (850/1900 MHz), a TFT display (128 x 128 pixels), web browser and MEdia net, email, IM and Bluetooth. The latest AT&T branded product also offers MP3 ringtones, includes a hands-free speakerphone and a VGA camera.

The battery is decent enough, allowing you to chat for about 3 hours and keeping the phone alive in standby mode for up to 16 days. Look for the 2600 in AT&T stores or online here (red version) and here (black version).
