No More Nokia for Japan

Nokia withdraws from the Japanese market, giving as reason the fact that this market’s share there remained below expectations. Still, is it Japan that doesn’t meet Nokia’s expectations, or Nokia that doesn’t fulfil the Japanese high tech demands?

Japan is a pretty evolved market, where the global definition of a middle ranged phone turns into that of a low end device there. And it’s not just a matter of translation.

Under such circumstances, Nokia could have never met the high tech demands of the Japanese consumers. They decided to leave only the Vertu line of phones here, as nobody can complain on the low technology of diamonds and gold.
