Nokia N97’s New Firmware Gets Demoed in Front of the Camera (Video)

September 6th, 2009 | by Yorga |

Nokia N97 will be getting a brand new firmware update, that got recently demoed in front of the camera, courtesy of the folks of thenokiablog.com. The guys of Mobilecrunch criticized the handset a lot when it first surfaced, but mostly because of its software flaws, that might get solved by the new firmware.

The demo of the new firmware was done with the aid of a Nokia representative, who happened to sport a N97 unit with the 2.0 firmware update installed. As you might already know, the main change brought by this software is the kinetic scrolling, allowing users to flick through screens and lists.

The current firmware only uses a poor dragging motion for these purposes, plus the 2.0 software brings extra free memory, better stability and an update of the Facebook application/widget, plus a bunch of new widgets.
