  • Roger McNamee, Elevation Partners founding partner recently claimed, in an interview that he has great expectations from Palm Pre, also saying that the iPhone will “die” this summer.

In the interview with Bloomberg, McNamee said that June 29, 2009 is the two year anniversary of Apple’s handset, so contracts will start expiring, while people start looking for new phones. Palm Pre would be the perfect replacement for the iPhone, unless its fans renew their contracts and wait for a new version from Apple.

What do you think? Is this prediction accurate? Will the iPhone die this summer?

I highly doubt it. I am one of the many consumers who still wants one. Everyone I talked to wishes they had one. The whole interface is just too well made to be shleved once people end once people's contracts expire.
