Palm Pre Sells Over 300,000 Units in June

Palm Pre was a success after all, since it managed to sell over 300,000 units in June, according to Charter Equity Research analyst Ed Snyder. Considering that 120,000 units were available at the start, this number show a pretty neat performance.

Right now, Palm is able to manufacture around 15,000 units per day, in order to meet demand. We’ve heard that a WCDMA version of the Pre is coming soon, so maybe the handset will start selling like hot cakes (or the iPhone), once it goes this way.

This rumoured WCDMA version should hit Telefonica this Fall and we also expect the device to go north and hit the market via Bell, maybe tripling the number of sold units and finally competing with the iPhone.
