Pantech is a name that I’ve been hearing a lot in conjunction with the release of their products in North America. Now, the company shows us another LTE handset, the Pantech Burst, that will be official on AT&T soon, with a price tag of $50. Expect the phone to debut in stores starting January 22nd for the price mentioned before.

We’re dealing here with a phone that uses a 1.2GHz dual core processor and a 4 inch Super AMOLED 800 x 480 display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture. There’s also a 2MP cam on the front side, 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot with a capacity of up to 32GB. A 1,650 mAh battery is powering the unit and you must know that the Pantech Burst runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Expect it to debut in black or red at the end of this month.

The $50 price tag applies to a 2 year commitment and in case you’re at CES these days find some time to play with this phone in Las Vegas, since it’s present there courtesy of AT&T.

Pantech is one of those Asian brands that wants a bigger piece of the US mobile market and they’re not afraid to show it. Their latest initiative involves the Pantech P4100 tablet that’s meant for AT&T with LTE support. Now, a handset comes along with the same features and carrier orientation. I’m talking about the Pantech P9070, with LTE and recent FCC confirmation.

This mysterious device is pictured in the diagram below and other than that it’s completely mysterious. We could see it taking off at CES 2012. I have to say that the camera sensor looks pretty fancy, so it might be an 8 megapixel unit with pretty strong photo features. The device could reach AT&T about the same time as the P4100 tablet, with a good dual action going on here. A quick look at this design makes me think about HTC for some reason.

Also, the battery on this thing seems pretty big, so it should provide enough juice to support your LTE craving. Well, at least this model has a microSD card slot, unlike the Galaxy Nexus, yet another LTE smartphone from Verizon’s offer. They have quite a bunch of those, including the Motorola Droid RAZR, HTC Rezound and soon the Droid 4. I guess that the Pantech P9070 can be seen as their lower end sidekick, right?

Right now we have info about a trio of HD display phones, two made by Samsung and one by LG. While the two first are the yet unannounced Nexus Prime and Galaxy S II with LTE and improved display, the LG model is the Optimus LTE, recently announced. And now comes the Pantech Vega LTE…

This Android smartphone uses a 4.5 inch 720p display, supports LTE connectivitty and uses a dual core 1.5GHz CPU. Aside from the 1280 x 720 pixel display, we don’t have the exact specs list of the model, but what we do know is that it’ll sport NFC connectivity, a less than 9.4mm thick body and a 1860mAh battery.

As far as I know, this smartphone will not leave South Korea anytime soon, but it would be nice to have a varied offer of 720p devices in Europe and the USA. HTC and Motorola have yet to show HD screen handsets, but at least they’ll have something to be proud of during CES 2011.

Pantech has yet another phone that aims at the US public, after the Breakout LTE model. This one is less about the novelty in specs and more about the design, since it’s an ultraslim model called Hotshot. The phone is pictured below:

Pantech Hotshot is a feature phone in nature, meaning that it has the most basic of functions and not huge expectations around it. The device doesn’t even run Android and it comes with Opera Mini Browser if you want to access the web. Packing a 3.2 inch display, the handset is very slim at 0.35 inches and it’s also got a LCD touch display and the basic functions: text, photo, video, voice messaging, calls and instant messaging.

There’s also a VZ Navigator for GPS navigation purposes, turn by turn navigation and more. Bluetooth connectivity is also available, as well as a 2GB microSD card bundled with the phone and the option to up to 32GB of storage. The pricing here is a bit strange, at $99, the same as the one of the hardcore specced Breakout, after mail in rebate.

Pantech Breakout is among the upcoming handsets on Verizon with LTE Connectivity so it’s certainly a model to keep an eye on. Even if you have LTE coverage in your area or not, the recent avalanche of handsets with this type of connectivity is a sure sign that things are moving forward, so it’s nice to have one more.

The Breakout was just spotted with Verizon branding on and it looks quite hot, to be honest. We’re dealing with a handset supporting connectivity of the fourth generation, packing a 4 inch WVGA display, a 1GHz single core processor and 512MB of RAM. There’s also a 5 megapixel camera on board plus a front cam for videochat purposes.

The handset also has the wonderful ability to turn into a mobile hotspot for up to 10 devices at one time, all through the blessing of LTE. Considering how legit and clear this picture is, we’re only days away from seeing this model officially launched. Interesting in buying it?

Pantech Breakout has been part of our stories before, as a product preparing for Verizon debut. Now we have a press shot of this handset, that surfaced together with the Samsung Illusion smartphone, through a recent leak.

Pantech Breakout is supposed to be an affordable 4G LTE smartphone with a 4 inch WVGA display, single core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera and a VGA front cam. This model runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and as far as design goes, it doesn’t stand out of the crowd too much. As far as the Samsung Illusion is concerned, this is the first time we can get a good look at this handset.

Supposed to be a mid-end 3G smartphone with Gingerbread this unit doesn’t even have some specs attached to it just yet, at least not officially. We’re expecting here a sub $100 device, that has been customized with the TouchWiz interface. Of course, the price I mentioned applies with a contract.

Verizon seems to have a very appealing future lineup, made mostly of 4G LTE models, like the Pantech Breakout we’ve just learned about. This model is headed to the Big Red and it has as selling point the latest gen of connectivity, as option. Also, the spec sheet for the handset has leaked online recently and it’s available after the break.

Pantech Breakout comes with a 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM and an internal storage of 390MB, that doesn’t impress anyone, but at least you get microSD instead and an 8GB card preinstalled. A 4 inch 480 x 800 pixel touchscreen, 5MP rear camera and secondary VGA front cam are also available. This model runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Truly nothing groundbreaking here… except for maybe the cost of the device, that’s not known yet, although it’ll have to be appealing, to separate this model from similar LTE-based products. Amazon has a pretty hot offer right now with THC Thunderbolt, LG Revolution and Samsung Droid Charge, but is the price right for you ?

LTE has been in the news once before these days, with rumors about a Samsung Galaxy S II follow-up with this kind of connectivity supported popping up this week. Now we have a Pantech model that takes the same route… I’m talking about the Pantech Apache, that’s just hit the FCC with Verizon LTE.

Codenamed Pantech ADR8995 or simply Apache, the phone is being toyed with these days at the FCC, showing support for CDMA and LTE band 13. WiFi and Bluetooth certification have already been taken care of for the Pantech Apache. This model is supposed to be the second 4G unit to come to Verizon in the following months, following Droid Bionic.

Sadly no other specs were detailed, but since this is Pantech, we expect moderate hardware and a cool price to go with that. Is this the beginning of the ascension of LTE as a technology for the masses? Let’s see the contracts first…

Sprint has a replacement for the aging Samsung Intercept and it doesn’t seem to be a model from the same maker, but rather the Kyocera cellphone below. This model is the Kyocera Oblique, an Android phone that has just reached the FCC and it’s expected to hit the Sprint stores on September 9.

We’re expecting a device with QVGA screen, a QWERTY sliding keyboard and EV-DO Rev. 0 support, plus WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3MP camera and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. No trace of the handset’s keyboard in pictures just yet, but we know it’s there… The model number for this newcomer is C5120 and we’ll see two versions of it coming soon: one for Sprint and one for CDMA carriers.

The pink version with floral pattern upfront looks like a nifty gift for a teen in the back to school time frame. Also, such a design makes me think that we’re dealing with a pretty cheap model here.

AT&T has just announced officially the Pantech Crossover phone, an Android 2.2 smartphone that packs a 600MHz CPU. Underpowered you say? For $69.99 with a 2 year contract that doesn’t sound so bad.

This Froyo unit comes with a sliding full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1 inch touchscreen display, support for WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, a 2GB microSD card (bundled) and a 3 megapixel camera. There’s also a 1,500mAh battery on board, good enough for 5 hours of use. Not the best specs once can imagine, especially knowing that Pantech has a dual core 1.5GHz smartphone in its portofolio…

Well, at least this model is cheap, coming to the US and ready for availability starting June 5th.
