AT&T Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Hands On Experience

October 28th, 2008 | by ThryStan |

Pocketnow got some quality time with Samsung Epix, which is available on AT&T right now for $199.99 with a two year agreement. Buy it unlocked for $499.99, but be wary of the following pros and cons discovered by its reviewers!

Turns out that the handset is great when used with one hand only and its performance is nothing shot of amazing, while the battery surely delivers and the optical cursor works great. Photo quality is solid, dialling is a ball from the Today screen and there are many programmable soft keys you can use. The handset features an external microSD slot, WiFi, aGPS, HSDPA to mention only a few of its great specs.

On the “cons” list there are no surprise software additions, some optical mouse issues, no soft reset hole and no ambient light sensor. Plus, the device feels thick, the browser is not that good, there’s no FM radio and no flash on the camera. Also, you’ll become frustrated because of a lot of Java-based trialware and that proprietary jack for audio/charging/syncing.
