  • Samsung Omnia II i8000 will be launched with Windows Mobile 6.1, as far as we know, but it’ll be upgradeable to WM 6.5 as soon as the OS is available. Or will it? Now it turns out that A1 (mobilkom), the number one Austrian carrier will be launching Omnia II with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board, in September.

Microsoft Austria is delivering this info regarding the phone’s availability, so the source is quite credible. We’re curious to see if the WM 6.5 Omnia II will also reach other European countries, or Austria is a special case.

There’s also that rumour regarding the new Omnia’s launch on Verizon this month, but we’ll wait for official confirmation before getting excited.
