Sprint and Samsung Go Eco and Green, by Announcing Reclaim M560 and Eco Initiatives
Sprint and Samsung Mobile USA have revealed the Samsung Reclaim M560 phone to the public, announcing it as “the first phone in the States made out of eco-friendly bio-plastic materials”.
This messaging device is made from 80% recyclable materials and it’ll be available in Earth Green and Ocean Blue. It packs a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a QVGA display, Stereo Bluetooth and a 2 megapixel camera with video recording. There’s also Sprint Navigation with Search on the specs list, corporate/personal email, a web browser and a microSDHC card slot (up to 32GB).
There’s no paper made user manual in Reclaim’s package, that comes with a virtual manual instead. Samsung’s fresh eco phone will debut on August 16, selling for $49.99 with a 2 year contract and you should know that $2 of the price will go to The Nature Conservancy’s “Adopt an Acre” program. This initiative supports land conservation in the US and protects natural habitats.
Aside from announcing Reclaim M560, Sprint has other green plans as well, since it plans to reduce paper usage by 30% in the next 5 years.
