  • After a pretty long waiting time, the 3G enabled Sidekick LX handset is available on T-Mobile’s online store for $249.99 with a 2 year contract and after a $50 mail in rebate. The new Sidekick is slimmer than its predecessor and it packs a 3.2 inch screen and a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording.

LX supports GSM quadband and UMTS triband global 3G connectivity, plus GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA 1.8 Mbit/s and HSDPA 3.6 Mbit/s. The new Sidekick uses a 1250 mAh Li-ion battery, that will provide 5.5 hours of talk time and 192 hours of standby time and its specs list also includes a video player, a microSD slot, predictive text input and Bluetooth 2.0 (Stereo Bluetooth).

GPS is also on board, together with the Danger OS and a full QWERTY keyboard, the main appeal of the Sidekick LX.
