Sony Ericsson Launches New “Green” Phones: Elm and Hazel
Sony Ericsson has just expanded its GreenHeart eco-friendly phone line with the Elm and Hazel models, plus it also announced the Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700, the first accessory in this line. These devices are eco-friendly because they’re made of recycled plastics, use e-manuals, no dangerous chemicals at all and have a low power consumption.
Sony Ericsson Hazel packs a 2.6 inch TFT display with a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, up to 280MB of memory, plus a microSD card slot and a battery that’ll last for 10 hours in GSM/GPRS talk mode. Sony Ericsson Elm features a 2.2 inch TFT display, with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, 280MB of memory, a microSD card slot and a battery with the same life as Hazel.
Both handsets will be shipped with a GreenHeart personal handsfree, the Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-60J. Also, these models come with support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and HSPA 2100/900. Elm will be available in Metal Black and Pearly Rose from Q1 2010, while Hazel will hit the market in Q2 2010, in Superior Black and Passionate Rouge.
Among the features shared by these phones there are also a 5 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, autofocus, face detection and geotagging, plus 3D games, Facebook, FM radio with RDS, A-GPS, Google Maps, TrackID, Mega Bass, Noise Shield and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support.
