Sony Ericsson handsets were easy to spot over the past years, since they always had that cute little green globe for a logo. Now we’ve found a leaked picture of a mystery handset called Sony ST26i, that doesn’t appear to sport that logo. We also have specs for it, so keep reading.

A tipster pointed out some specs for Phone Arena, including a 4 inch qHD display, a 1 GHz ST-Ericsson U8500 chipset and 512MB of RAM. There’s also 8GB of storage and a camera capable of HD video on board. It’s been a busy week for Sony, that yesterday unveiled two new Xperia models, the Xperia GX and SX, with LTE and Android 4.0. They will only come to Japan and in other news we’ve also heard recent rumors about the Hayabusa model from Sony, a supposed higher end device.

Back to the Sony ST26i, this one looks more like a lower end unit, or even midrange if you want, since at least it’s not a sub 1 GHz handset like the HTC Wildfire C. Worst case scenario, this is a mere prototype that will never get made. Best case scenario we’ll see his model launching this summer, maybe with some other new Xperias.
