MWC 2010: Global Mobile Awards Winners Include Steve Jobs, HTC Hero

  • Each year, the GSM Association gives out the Global Mobile Awards during Mobile World Congress and this year’s edition included 19 categories and their respective winners. The mobile phone of the year was HTC Hero, while Steve Jobs was “The Person of the Year”.

    “The Last City – Fight for your Life” got the award for best mobile game, while Orange was awarded with the “Breakthrough in mobile technology” prize. CBS Mobile also got an award, for the best mobile TV service, thanks to TV.com, while Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 was pronounced the “Best innovative product or service”.

    Huawei SDP solution was announced as the best service platform, while the government award went to Kenya and the prize for environmental technologies went to VNL, for their GSM base station, using solar energy.
