Synaptics Fuse Concept Showcases New Ways of Interaction
Synaptics became famous back in 2006, when they showed the world their Onyx concept, a touchscreen-based device, dating back from the time when the iPhone and LG Prada didn’t exist. Now, Synaptics shows am innovation in the segment of touchphone interaction, as you’ll find out after the break.
The new concept belonging to the company is called Fuse and it includes technologies from Alloy, TAT, Immersion and Texas Instruments. It relies on squeeze, tilt and haptic interaction, focusing on single-handed and no-look operation on a touchscreen phone.
Synaptic’s new idea is a whole collection of sensors, among which there’s a touchpad at the back of the phone, a 3 axis accelerometer and a new generation touchscreen display at the front. On board of the concept device you’ll find a TI OMAP 3630 processor, powering the TAT Cascades 3D UI Engine.
