  • Motorola’s extremely well selling Droid handset is getting ready for an Android 2.1 upgrade via Verizon. There are many goodies included in this software, stuff like a new 3D gallery app, voice to text, weather and news widgets, plus pinch to zoom.

Also, in the new software you’ll find an improved pattern lock and even live wallpapers, a welcome bonus for all those who envy Nexus One owners. Too bad that Google’s Phone didn’t also borrow its 3D app launcher to the Droid, but still this upgrade is very neat.

The update is being rolled out with now in batches of 250,000.
