Vertu Constellation Offers Sapphire Crystal and Alligator Skin Wrapped Around Decent Hardware

There are some people out there who don’t know that Vertu is actually a Nokia section that takes their devices and morphs them into luxury handsets. It’s usually E Series models, but this time we’ve got a newcomer that looks nothing like a Nokia device…

Called the Vertu Constellation, this touchscreen model actually has decent specs to begin with. These include a 3.5 inch AMOLED display with sapphire crystal coating, HSPA+ connectivity, an 8 megapixel camera with twin LED flash and possibly lots of internal memory. A ceramic pillow in the earpiece area and black alligator skin on the back cover are nice touches that add to the price a lot.

Speaking of which, we have no idea what the price for this baby will be or what the OS is for that matter. I guess that a couple of thousand dollars wouldn’t be so far off the value of this product… I can already see the football players and F1 drivers with such gear in their pockets.

Vertu Constellation Quest New Version Features Carbon Fiber Makeover

Vertu’s Constellation Quest was a premiere when it launched, being the first model of its kind to run Symbian. Now the device gets a new release, in a version that’s made out of carbon fiber. This newcomer will be available in two editions: one made of polished stainless steel and the other sporting 18 carat gold.

The handset’s lip and battery cover are made from a light material, while the back will be adorned with black leather. Sadly, there’s no image of the new model, but at least you can have a glance at the original one above. No info about the price, but we’re in the thousand dollars area, that’s for sure.

We supposed the specs of the previous version of the handset won’t change much, so we’re still getting that 2.46 inch display, QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, 8GB of storage, HSDPA, WiFi, 5MP camera and microSD slot.

Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT Drops it Like It’s Hot

Have too much money to spend? Then you might consider getting a Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT unit, that’s made out of forged titanium and sports a matte black PVD finish. Red and black sewn leather adorns the handset, that looks like this:

The side of the phone includes an enameled version of Ferrari’s famous engine block, while the battery cover is made of ceramic. This is a limited edition device, only available in 2011 units, in case you’re tempted by it. Here’s the specs list:

Vertu Constellation Quest Announced; Smartphone Functions and Elegance

Vertu has just announced the launch of a new handset, this time a premiere: a smartphone known as Vertu Constellation Quest. The handset took off during a launch party held in London, attended by Seal, Kevin Spacey and Holly Valance, among others.

This is a full QWERTY device with an analogue clock, that adjusts to the user’s location and a backup and sync service called vertu.me. Vertu Constellation Quest uses a candybar design and can be made out of polished stainless steel or 18k Gold, according to the customer’s preference.

As far as the specs are concerned, the phone is rumored to feature a 2.36 inch display, a camera with LED flash, two touch sensitive buttons above the display and a 3.5mm audio jack. Vertu City Brief is also on board, as a location aware mobile concierge, providing access to information on cities all over the world.

Vertu Ascent X Specs Get Detailed, Image Also Leaks

Nokia’s luxury division, Vertu recently leaked info about a new handset, the Vertu Ascent X model. The device is pictured below and it has recently been approved by the FCC, while the info we have about it was made available courtesy of Bluetooth SIG.

This new Vertu model packs a 2 inch QVGA display, Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 32GB of internal memory and A-GPS. Email is also supported on the handset, as well as quad band GSM connectivity and quad band UMTS/HSUPA, making this a global phone.

No info on the phone’s price or launch date yet.

Vertu Japan Celebrates One Year of Existence, Launches Golden Phones

Nokia’s Vertu recently celebrated one year of existence of its flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo and they used this occasion to launch a new limited series of luxury handsets. Available in Japan, the new models represent the four seasons and bear the names of Vertu Kinko, Vertu Nanten, Vertu Kikusui and Vertu Daigo.

Each model was painted by hand and covered in gold, plus they have very nice textures, as shown in the images below. Apparently, only 4 units of each model will be made, each retailing for about $215,800. Buyers of this ultra luxury phones will get free domestic calls locally, which doesn’t quite matter, once you spend $200k on a phone.

Vertu Constellation Ayxta Valentines Edition, the Pink Phone for Your Loved One

If you’re willing to spend quite a bunch on this Valentine’s Day, you might as well get your girl a Vertu. Since the Vertu Constellation Ayxta was just released in the Valentines Edition, you could get that, complete with pink leather finish. However, you’ll be spending $10,000+ for it…

The expensive luxury phone comes with a 2.4 inch 320 x 480 pixel display, a secondary external 1.36 inch screen (128 x 160), 8GB of internal memory and Bluetooth 2.0.

Vertu Constellation Ayxta Valentines Edition lacks 3G support and WLAN, but at least it’s got EDGE, A-GPS and a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash. Its battery will provide the handset with 300 hours of standby and 5 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.

If you want a couple of accessories to go with your Vertu handset, you can check out the latest Vertu V accessory collection, including a Bluetooth headset, a card reader and a ballpoint pen. The Bluetooth 2.1 compliant earpiece provides 6 hours of battery life and costs $780.

The USB memory card reader goes for $490 and it also bundles a 2GB microSD, while the ballpoint pen, that’s kind of not fit for a phone accessory collection, can be yours for $330. For these 3 purchases, Vertu recommends you also buy a special leather case for protection. Pricy, aren’t they?

Vertu Constellation Ayxta Gets Previewed (Video)

Vertu has a clamshell phone, in case you didn’t know and it’s called Constellation Ayxta, plus it can be checked out in the image below and the video following it a tad later. Ayxta comes with a bunch of features that are new to the Vertu series, stuff like two displays (QVGA internal and 128 x 160 external screen, GPS and HSDPA.

A 3 megapixel camera is also in the mix, together with a microSD card slot, a case made out of stainless steel, leather and gold, for richer users. If you want more details about the handset, there’s always the video preview below, but it’s in Russian, courtesy of the same Mobile-review folks who have covered tons of other cellphones lately.

At least the phone’s UI is in English… Price-wise, Vertu Ayxta goes for 4900 EUR and 6500 EUR.

If you want to spend 5000, up to 6500 Euros on a handset, there’s a new Vertu phone in town and surprisingly enough this is a flip phone we’re talking about, Vertu Constellation Ayxta. This is a high quality product, for the ones with high standards of living.

Also, as usual with Vertu phones, there’s a special button that triggers the Concierge service, allowing the user to talk to a service agent at any hour and ask him any questions, from trivia to the latest plane ticket prices. Ayxta also comes with Vertu Select, an online service that provides “lifestyle information”, like details regarding the cool and trendy bars in your area.

City Brief is yet another service available on the phone, informing you about the town you’ve just arrived in, the people’s habits and more. Specs-wise, you get a microSD card slot (8GB cards max), 3G connectivity, sync with PC and Macs via microUSB, a 3 megapixel camera with twin LED flash and a stainless steel frame.

Ceramic, leather, aluminium and a sapphire crystal screen complete the hot design of the new Vertu.
