MWC 2010: Vodafone 150, Ugliest, Cheapest Mobile Phone

  • MWC 2010 isn’t all about top notch smartphones and cool designs, but also functionality, so an ugly device that’s pretty useful may come in handy. Vodafone showcased two such ugly devices, the Vodafone 150 and the 250 model, with the first being shown in the following video:

    Vodafone 150 is a very cheap device, retailing for $15 and packing extremely basic features, like a tiny monochrome green display, voice and SMS support, plus mobile payment services. The 250 model looks like a TV remote and comes with much the same feats, plus FM radio and a color display.

    Vodafone 250 can be yours for $20 and there’s a pretty good reason for Vodafone to include mobile banking support on these handsets: 11 million carrier clients that use their phones for banking duties. Expect these models to debut in third world countries soon.
